I was taken here for my birthday dinner and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was amazingly helpful, friendly, and kind and made some great drink and appetizer recommendations. The food was spectacular and I especially recommend the lobster ravioli, meatball appetizer, and buffalo chicken sandwich. The cocktails were also really great. Overall, I couldn’t recommend the Black Oak on Fifth enough for anyone looking to have a lovely dinner.

Stopped into Black Oak on 5th with a colleague while in Brooklyn on a business trip, and wow, what a great call. We grabbed seats at the bar and had Gloria, the bartender extraordinaire taking care of us. She was outstanding from start to finish: personal, friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. She had great recommendations for drinks and even steered us toward an incredible dessert. The whole vibe was welcoming and relaxed. I’m so glad we came here for the happy hour! We only had the meatballs and the ricotta with honey, but will be back for a proper dinner. It’s a great restaurant with really lovey staff. Looking forward to visiting again.
